GETTING TO KNOW OUR PRIEST

The Rev. William (Bill) King is the part-time Priest in Charge.

Office hours are every Wednesday afternoon from 1:00pm until 6:00pm and from 8am until 11:00am on the 1st Saturday of each month.

Bill lives in Birmingham with his wife Pat. From 1998 until Nov. 1st of 2007, he served as Deputy for Congregational Development and Clergy Deployment for Bishop Parsley, our diocesan bishop, and was responsible for starting new churches, mission/outreach, diaconate training and deployment of clergy within the diocese. He  continues to do consulting work and retreats with parishes of our diocese and consulting with other dioceses of the Episcopal Church. He has served as a priest in the Diocese of Alabama for almost 21 years during which time he served as rector of All Saints, Birmingham for 8 years. Bill also has a strong interest in both mission work, having gone on numerous mission tribs to both Honduras and Haiti. He also conducts pilgrimages both in Alabama to sacred sites as well as international pilgrimages to such places as the Holy Land, Ireland, England, Scotland and Italy. THE REV. DEACON STEVE SHANKS serves as an ordained deacon at both Trinity Church in Clanton and at St. Andrew's in Montevallo (Shelby County). Deacon Steve and his wife Vickie reside in Pelham, Al. (Shelby County). As deacon on the staff of Trinity Church, Deacon Steve is in the parish on the 2nd and 4th Sunday's of the month as well as on certain feastday days like Good Friday, the blessing of the Animals on the first Sunday in October and Christmas Eve.

Deacon Steve also serves as the Diocesan Jubilee Officer, active in the Cursillo movement and is very much involved in the Episcopal Peace Fellowship. Deacon Steve can be reached by email at: srshanks@gmail.com.
